2004 CCRTS Foreword

Welcome to the 2004 Command and Control Research and Technology Symposium (CCRTS). We are pleased to have Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) and San Diego Marine Recruit Depot as co-hosts to this year’s Symposium.

This year’s theme is Power of Information Age Concepts and Technologies. The Command and Control Research Program (CCRP), through these technical Symposia, endeavors to expand our insight into the technical, developmental, and operational aspects of command and control (C2) and the systems that support C2. The wide variety of professional and technical papers presented are intended to stimulate meaningful dialogue and provide an opportunity for participants to explore C2-related topics. The Symposium brings together accomplished individuals from government, military, industry, and academia.

The presentations are once again being published prior to the start of the Symposium to facilitate participants’ choice of which sessions to attend and assist in their preparation to engage the presenters in meaningful dialogue. We are looking forward to the presentations and hope you will take an active role in making the Symposium a success.

We hope you will consider participating in the 9th International Command and Control Research and Technology Symposium, Coalition Transformation: An Evolution of People, Processes, and Technology to Enhance Interoperability, scheduled 14 – 16 September 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
