Abstract

This translation of a Soviet C2 handbook provides fascinating insights into that armed force's C2 theory, organization, processes, and lessons learned. It is divided into ten chapters and includes the original bibliography, further elucidating the range of perspectives contributing to Soviet C2 theory (organizational science, management and administrative science, psychology). Topics addressed include: theory and methodology, hardware and automation, organization, C2 activities (monitoring, situation assessment, decision making, directive dissemination), the role of support services, morale, and lessons learned.
