Abstract

This volume represents an early attempt to collect and make available a variety of perspectives on the spectrum of issues involved in C3I systems. It contains 57 articles, grouped around five specific topics; a brief section of author biographies is included, but no index. The five sections of the book are: `Identifying & Defining C3I Requirements' `Designing, Acquiring, & Testing C3 Systems'; `C3I Systems Management'; `Issues in C3I Hardware & Software Systems Management'; and `C3I Technology in Motion: Sanctioned & Unsanctioned Technology Transfer.' The individual topics addressed include such diverse subjects as C2 systems basics, banking, acquisition, electronics, design, modeling, and espionage. The 62 authors come from civil government, the military, and private industry, and include the perspectives of all levels, from second lieutenants to lieutenant generals.
